Passing the torch

So, Children of the Gods is over. Done.

I'm actually kind of relieved - no more having to worry about whether or not I missed someone's Phase, no more hex maps and miniatures eating up the real estate that could go to my notes or die rolls, no more having to worry about whether or not my antagonists match or exceed the point totals of the PCs.

I think I had a decent wrap-up, though - I really scared some of the players when I plopped down the cyclops miniature from lostsatyr's Greek army collection on the map. One of them almost had a heart attack until I said, "Oh, that? That's a statue." Much relief all around.

Then, during the second round of combat, I remark, "You hear a creaking sound...the statue is moving." *EG* Suddenly, they weren't so relieved anymore. :)

The next time I get the urge to do some superheroing in a game, though, I'm doing it as a player. That way, I'll only have one character sheet to worry about.

Like all systems, Champions does get better as the GM and players become more comfortable with it. :)

This post made me laugh. :) I'm glad everything ended on a good note.
