Scion: Demigod & Scion: God

My copies of Scion: Demigod and Scion: God arrived yesterday. I've been looking through them and thoroughly enjoying myself. This is a game I think I could get to really like.

I liked the common thread running through each of the fiction pieces at the beginning of the books - I wonder if they were all written by the same person?

I admit I'd thought of running a Scion adventure at this year's UBCon, but I think I might want a little more experience running it under my belt before I try it out at a con. Maybe next year....

lostsatyr and I are brainstorming ideas for a Scion saga sometime down the road. Most of the ideas are nebulous as yet, though we do know we'd like all the characters to be born and bred in the U.S., and it'll likely start out set in Hawaii.

And yes, I'm creating a Scion of the Amatsukami (like *that* surprises anyone reading this).

My gal is the daughter of Hachiman, the Japanese war god, and an actress in an American "Super Sentai" knockoff (a'la Power Rangers) called "Super Teen Ninja Force."

She was unaware of her divine heritage until a Titanspawn attacked the set (at first, everyone thought it was one of the Monsters of the Episode.... :). Only the timely arrival of her father saved her life. He gifted her with her Birthrights - a hitai-ate, a jade necklace, and a naginata - and revealed the truth about the world and her place within it. Now, she fights evil for real as well as on-camera.

that sounds really fun!

I ran into a version of Neverwhere the rpg which I'm going to take a look at and see whether I like it enough to run at con. I enjoyed the book so maybe I'll enjoy running a game for it. Although, I think tarbis could do a much better job at creating a dark and twisted plot for it. His mind can come up with some really twisted crap.

I got my copies of "Scion: Hero" and "Scion: God" yesterday (Demigod had been shipped seperatly and arrived about a week ago and has been taunting me because I couldn't read it because it was the second book, not the first.). I've started reading it and it seems like it'd be a lot of fun to play.

I don't have even the beginings of a character concept yet but once I finish reading the player section once I'll start trying to come up with something, as I find the longer I have to spend on character creation, the happier I am playing the character. Right now I've a million nebulous possibilites floating around in my head.
