Halloween weekend goings-on

No gaming today, so lostsatyr and I are off to tarbis and im_a_woman's this evening for an impromptu Halloween party - spooky movies and tasty treats. :)

We saw The Legend of Zorro yesterday - both lostsatyr and I enjoyed it. The The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe trailer was an added bonus - I think I spent the entire time it was playing going, "Oooooo...." :)

lostsatyr and I did some shopping at Drive-Thru RPG.com after the movie and dinner yesterday - we now have Exalted: the DragonBlooded and The StoryTeller's Handbook (or whatever it's called) for Exalted in PDF. Am toying with the idea of someday running a DragonBlooded game. ;)

I suppose I should wash the dishes.....

The Dragon Blooded book is amazing! I don't mind the Player's Guide, but one of my players pointed out that it is mostly for flavor. (That didn't stop my Haltian from getting Omni-dextarious, and a deep-dark-secret. :D )

If you ever figure out Power Combat, please tell me, ok?

Yay another Exalted fan.
Dragon blooded games are quite fun. A word of warning- do NOT tie in ANYTHING that has to do with entering the Wyld.

DB's have just about as much protection in the Wyld, and around Fae as chocolate bars in boiling water. My fiance' found that out the hard way. She made a very elaborate campaign that painfully fizzled when we all realized that it hinged on us spending an extended bout in the middle marches of the Wyld, with nothing to spare us from any of its effects.

In other news, Exalted: The Fair Folk, particularly if you're a Changeling fan, is quite good and is very well written.

Re: Yay another Exalted fan.
I dunno...when I borrowed it from the local university gaming club, I couldn't get my head wrapped around it.

Of course, that might be because I hadn't read the Exalted Core rules at the time....:)

When Chaos goes Orderly.
Having not read the core book would cause a small speed bump in understanding what the heck is going on. I've had some difficulty understanding the mechanics behind the fair folk book too, but the concepts orbiting their distinctive branch in the exalt world are very fascinating.
