UBCon 2006

The Buffy game on Friday night was fun, even though there were only three people (two of them ramius_rathorne and ambrose_rinaldo). I would have liked more people, but that can be blamed on the lack of promotion for the con, I suppose.

Two of the attendees of the Harry Potter...THING...on Saturday confirmed my suspicions. No character sheets...erm, yeah.

If anything could have proved that the magic is gone from CtD for me, it was the event I ran on Saturday. I was very grateful to tarbis for playing, since he helped move things along a number of times.

The current president of UBSaRPA should learn to be a hell of a lot less abrasive when dealing with con attendees, and think more outside SUNY Buffalo and its immediate environs. If he and the rest of the current officer corps had, perhaps they might have had more attendees (of course, even some of the locals didn't know it was UBCon this past weekend until the last minute - poor D. only got to show up for a little while to cruise the Dealers' Room Friday evening. :( ).

Chez Geek was fun, as was Pimp: The Backhanding. Of course, the latter may have been fun 'cause we got to play with ramius_rathorne and eslin's hubby.

I really would have liked to see akadriver (I hope you feel better soon!). We did get to see kotikokura for a little while, and caught up with eberg and uncacreamy during the con, so that was a good thing. And eberg and uncacreamy's little boy is very, very cute. :)

Some of the Igor Bars went to our players, and lostsatyr and I gave the rest to the Adventures in Midland players. Hopefully they enjoyed them.

I could go on about what could have been better this year, but I'll sum it up with a quote from tarbis that I think captures the essence of a number of my points - "This [con] is the three days in the ground." (referring to the con's title, "Resurrection" - a misnomer if ever we'd heard one.)

Sorry we missed you when Justric and I breezed through there...

We weren't there all that long on Saturday, and literally about 10 minutes on Sunday to pick up Deliria.

I just want to thank you for being part of what made the Con bearable. *starts compiling long list of complaints/suggestions for the email to the ossifer corps*

If you don't mind, I would like to see that list sometime. I might have a few things to add to it. :)

I see he hasn't changed much...last Toronto Trek, he sat directly in front of me at a panel and I ended up having to leave before his "fanboy funk" asphyxiated me.

He keeps asking me & lostsatyr at every UBCon if we're going to Anime North; I really want to answer, "Not if you're going to be there." :)
