I got phat lewtz!

Saturday, lostsatyr, ambrose_rinaldo and I went to Rochester for a day trip.

We went to Crazy Egor's, where I picked up the new issues of PS 238 and Knights of the Dinner Table. I also picked up the World of Darkness rulebook (yes, tarbis and willowriversong - I have succumbed to the lure of WoD 2.0. Blame ramius_rathorne showing me his copy of Promethean: The Created, and my eagerness to play the new Changeling) and a copy of Are You a Werewolf? I thought it might make a nice pick-up game, either at a con or for our regular group when the GMs don't want to run anything.

We also got a chance to visit with the inimitable Egor himself; it's good to see him doing well after some health problems a couple months ago.

After Egor's, we went into Henrietta, where we stopped at Hammergirl Anime. I picked up some new Knights of the Zodiac and Please Save My Earth manga, a couple of DVDs (the first volumes of Mai Hime and Tokyo Underground), and a Naruto Mist Village headband (a necessary accessory for my plan to cosplay as Haku at Polaris this summer!).

After Hammergirl, it was off to "Taste of India" for some terrific appetizers and a truly yummy Chicken Tikka Masala. Mmmmm!

After dinner, we stopped briefly at Millennium Games and Hobbies, where I picked out a folding hex map sheet. I figure it'll be good to have on hand; it has squares on one side, and hexes on the other (as lostsatyr remarked, "The squares are good for WoD, and the hexes are good for Champions!").

Then it was home to feed the kitties and unload the loot. We spent some time with ambrose_rinaldo visiting, until he left and we stayed up a bit longer and then went to bed.

It's alright.
I ended up picking up the WOD 2.0 corebook a month or so ago. It's not a terrible system by itself. The creature splat books still bother me, but I think the core system is a good one for mortals games at least.

I'll have you know that was the last WoD 2.0 book I bought... I suppose I'll buy more eventually. But without anyone to play with down here (my schedule causing that for the most part), I don't have the incentive to be as completist as I usually am.

Promethean seemed very, very cool when you showed it to me - I'm probably going to pick up a copy for myself soon.

And I'm hoping the new Changeling will be better than CtD. From the teasers, it seems they've gone back to the roots of the word "changeling" - a good move IMO. With any luck, they'll give the Fair Folk their teeth back.

Hey, did your copy of KoDT have like, sloppy images in it? In mine some of the panels were blurry and I could see the pixels used to make it. I'm thinking about asking to return it if mine's the only one that is like that.

I think they may have been rushed though to get it to press since they're running about a month and a half behind.

Wee Mia Hime very very good series :)

I wish I could cosplay, sadly I lack funds to go anywhere to actually do such a thing.

WOD 2.0 isnt really horrible it has some good points, although there would be a heck of alot of modifications to the system should I run it. I didn;t know they were bringing back changeling. This is good, I hope we shall see...
