*Sigh*

I'm beginning to think I can't keep players in my live games to save my life.

It doesn't help matters that I live in the armpit of New York State and not too many people stick around here for long. Either that, or I can't get them all together at once. Or people don't want to play what I want to run.

There are probably people out there who would say, "Well, since you can get players online, why don't you go to running online games all the time?" The answer is, I'd miss the face-to-face interaction. I've never been able to find a substitute for face-to-face RP. PBEM and forum games are nice, but they're not the same. I'm not saying they're bad, 'cause they're *not*, but I find I really need the immediate gratification that FTF RP provides me with.

Off to feed Mr. Ari, who is begging...

Live actions?? Where are you in NYS? I'm in NYS and most of my friends who did live actions moved after college, so it's been years since I did any. ::sigh::

Western NY state. Buffalo, to be precise. And I run tabletop, but it's character-interaction-intensive (as opposed to hack-n-slash). :-)

You can check out http://rpg.black-unicorn.org/index.html for more info on my games.

Why not try mucks? You get the instant gratification of RPing in realtime, but it's somewhat easier to get people together.

Mm, I've never really tried MUs, except for one Changeling one my friend was an admin on, and where the other players I met were kind of cliquish (ignored my character when she was standing right in front of them).

I've thought about trying another, but I'd need to have someone to sort of take me in hand and show me how to use the MU interface beyond the very basics (my friend was almost never on when I was).
